The Author of Life – The Creator, Saviour, Rock and Foundation
As an author of four books to date and numerous other posts, in this my first blog with authenticvoices.life, I am pointing you, above all else, to
“the Author of life” (Acts 3:15).
Jesus is the Author of life - the Creator, Saviour, Rock and Foundation of the world.
“Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (John 1:3-5).
The authentic light and the path of life are only in the Lord Jesus. Our hearts find true peace and rest in Him alone. To turn to Him is wisdom. Life as life is to be truly known is to trust implicitly in His love, seen in His sacrifice on the cross for our sins.
In God’s Son, through the Holy Spirit, is the cornerstone and foundation of life and peace. The Lord Jesus is the Lord of heaven and earth. All authority is in His worthy hands. He, and He alone, is our only Rock.
"You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You. Trust in the Lord for ever, for the Lord, the Lord Himself, is the Rock eternal" (Isaiah 26:3-4).
We cannot live, not truly live, without Jesus, the Son of God. To do so is the utmost pride. We are not greater, better or wiser than our Creator, Maker and Sustainer. He alone is good, holy and righteous. Our goodness, holiness and righteousness are only in Him.
Because of His great love, we are set free from our self-centredness, through humbling ourselves by receiving His mercy and grace, by faith.
"For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted" (Luke 14:11). “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6).
The Lord Jesus sacrificed His life in love for us, to save us and rescue us from our self-centredness and separation from God our Father. Jesus shed His blood on the cross - He was crucified for us, then rose again three days later.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). “For the love of Christ [the Messiah - the Anointed One] compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for Him who died for them and was raised again” (2 Corinthians 5:14-15).
The Author, Creator, Saviour, Rock and foundation of life are in the Son of God. To turn to Him is wisdom, who gives us love, life and peace like no other. There is no treasure or friend who comes close to showing the depth, height and breadth of this eternal love.
“For in Scripture it says, 'See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in Him will never be put to shame'." (1 Peter 2:6).
